National Poetry Month Reading Series - David Lee

In our twenty-third year of National Poetry Month at Sundance, David Lee kicks off our series of Wednesday readings, April 6 at 4pm, live on our YouTube page.

David Lee was Utah’s first Poet Laureate; in 2001 he was a finalist for the United States Poet Laureate.  A former seminary student and semi-pro baseball player (the only white player to play in the Texas Negro Leagues) and hog farmer, he is the author of two dozen volumes of poetry.  His awards include multiple fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and National Endowment for the Humanities, the Western States Book Award, the Elkhorn Poetry Prize, and many others. He is a Lifetime Fellow by the Utah Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Nevada's Poet Laureate, Gailmarie Pahmeier, will introduce Dave. He will read from his forthcoming Rusty Barbed Wire, Selected Poems, from Samara Press.
