Baobab Press Spring Titles Launch with Tiffany Cates & Colin Rafferty

On Thursday, March 11, Baobab Press celebrates the launch of two new titles from Tiffany Cates (M-Theory, fiction) and Colin Rafferty (Execute the Office, essays). Join us at 4pm on YouTube for readings and conversation moderated by Baobab's Managing Editor, Danilo Thomas.

Colin Rafferty’s Execute the Office uses lyric prose and formal invention to explore the humanity, or lack thereof, in each of the forty-five American presidents. These essays discuss the modes in which we remember. Through screenplays, death songs, footnotes, infinite rooms, evacuation routes, and nomenclatures, to name a few examples, these diverse essays engage with history from fresh perspectives. Execute the Office contains histories in and of unusual objects. While unfamiliar at first, they soon become distinct, unforgettable, profound, human.

In M-Theory, novelist Tiffany Cates threads America’s societal, spiritual, and moral tensions through the streets and elevated tracks of Chicago creating a riveting thriller with an endearing love story at its beating heart. Meticulously layered, M-theory is as inventive and intelligent as it is entertaining. This first book introduces Tiffany Cates as an important new voice in American fiction.
