AUGUST SALON—Storytelling and the Sudan

Nevada Humanities and Sundance Books and Music are pleased to host a conversation with visual storyteller Jessi LeMay. Jessi is the founder and director of The Folk & The Lore, Inc., a project with a mission to "find, share, and celebrate the individual narratives that come from the 'Biggest Little City' we all call home." In June, Jessi and her digital storytelling partner, Krystal Tingle, traveled to South Sudan to document the stories of the people of Kuajok, the capital city of the Warrap state. Jessi will be talking with us about the storytelling experience, her time in the Sudan, and what happens when we hear our neighbor's story—even if that neighbor is halfway around the world.
