August 31 (Tuesday 6:30pm) Architect Louis Roberts signs & discusses MAN BETWEEN EARTH AND SKY: A Symbolic Awareness of Architecture Through a Process of Creativity. The author envisions architecture as a restatement of nature – of the earth and the sky. The language of this architecture has a universal appeal originating from visual codes accumulated over eons of time in the human unconscious. It puts us back in touch with our primordial roots. This is an architecture of belonging – to the earth, to the place, to the human spirit. Louis Roberts is a registered architect in California and previously in Connecticut. He has Bachelor and Master degrees in architecture from the University of Illinois, and was for a number of years a professor of architecture in the United States and abroad. He lives with his wife Nancy on the Monterey Peninsula in California.
